For several days now, MSNBC has focused on Rep. Weiner. However, it isn't just reporting what happened. There have been several panels on several shows, trying to second guess what Weiner might have been thinking and how his wife should react.
There must be more important things going on in the world about which we are not getting much coverage. The destruction on the Golan Heights by the Israelis might be something people in the US are interested in more than hearing all the intimate details of Weiner's intimacies on the Internet.
Ed Schultz, a man I have greatly admired for some of his tenaciousness on critical issues seems to be off base again as he was when he was demanding that Obama should have gone to Wisconsin and marched with the people. He totally missed that the Secret Service could not protect him if he did that and it is their job to disallow his doing anything for which they are unable to protect him. That's their job!
Schultz is calling for Weiner to resign on the basis of his having told lies to cover up his embarrassing behaviors. However, I will applaud Schultz for interviewing several people from Weiner's district who give him glorious reviews. In myh opinion, I am concerned that MSNBC has become unfair and unbalanced 180 degrees from FOX NEWS

Let me offer a partial defense of MSNBC. Yes, MSNBC is unbalanced, as is FOX News. But so is the Nation and the National Review, two excellent magazines. Yes, these magazines have a political slant, but as long as you recognize this slant, one can learn a lot from these magazines. One should not, of course, depend on only the left or the right for information. But it is now easier than ever to expose oneself to many different points of view.
Ed Shultz is clearly a man of the left. To his discredit, sometimes his left wing bias has resulted in some quite unfair shows; the worst example may be his endorsement of Alan Grayson's dirty 2010 campaign. But just as one should eat a balanced diet of food, one should consume a balanced diet of news. And one can get his/her daily requirement for liberal commentary by watching "The Ed Show".
Frank, you do your usual need to defend. I do not intend to stop listening to anyone, though less of Fox News. You rarely comment directly on my theme but tell me others who do the same thing. Of course, there are always others but I was discussing the change I am seeing in MSNBC which saddens me.
I was under the impression that you had stopped listening to Fox News. I'm not a big fan of Fox News (although I am fond of the two libertarian shows on Fox Business), but I do think it is important to check out both the liberal and conservative perspectives on the issues. Out of curiosity, what right wing news sources do you follow?
I'm also curious about what has changed at MSNBC. From the very beginning, they made it clear that they wanted to create a liberal alternative to Fox, and put together a line-up consisting solely of leftists to obtain that goal. They have always had a left wing tilt. My example of Ed Shultz at his worst is from 2010. So is MSNBC really more unbalanced now than it ever was, or it merely the case that its bias is more apparent now?
Frank, by now you know that I do not follow anyone nor anything religiously or with regularity. The media channels and news have tried to be balanced and try to have the opposing views. Maybe you can point me to someone other than Limbaugh otherwise?
