VIOLATING CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS? FLIP-FLOPPING?

This is not a final decision and Prop 8 will be in limbo until the Supreme Court (if it goes there) rules on same gender marriage.  It is thought the issue will eventually be solved by demographics.  We are reminded that there was a time that races could not intermarry.  Most amusing is that the people who most object are the people who want the government out of our lives. The Pew Foundation poll shows that 46% are in favor of same sex marriage.  For more on this Prop 8 issue, click here.

Another hypocritical stance are those who remain dedicated to overturning Roe vs Wade on religious principles.  They do not ask, "Whose religion?"  Does a majority share this opinion?  Not at all from general polls taken, it would seem..  It is good that Ms Hayden stepped down from her job at Susan G Komen.  Her presence has undoubtedly cost an irreparable lack of trust and respect for the Foundation which may take a long time to recover.

There is yet another hypocritical flap about PAC money used by Obama as well as the Republican Presidential  candidates.  Originally, Obama said he would not take PAC money.  However, when the money given to PACs became an obscene amount, it would have been analogous to him willing to duel with an initial agreement that they would all fight with feathers and the the rest of them changed to pistols and are calling HIM a flip-flopper for deciding to use a pistol, too.

Hypocrites should wear a big red "H" on their foreheads, IMHO

In 2008, Obama became the first major party candidate in decades to decline federal matching funds. His opponent, John McCain, accepted the matching funds, along with the spending limits. The result was that Obama spent more on his 2008 campaign than McCain legally could. I don't agree with McCain or Obama on campaign spending rules, but at least McCain stuck to his principles. On this issue, it is Obama that should be wearing a big red "H".
