The Cheneys, father and daughter, are notorious for asking from others that which they most usually owe to others and never give, an apology. The fact that there is never an apology for all the deaths that can be set at Dick Cheney's door for the Iraq war, his own private game in which he made money illegally (if one holds him responsible for the Halliburton no-bid contract and Blackwater)., for torture practices, and for the rage he raised in so many towards America.
Most recently, they demanded an apology from Obama for rebuking the torture policy of the Bush administration. This week, on CNN’s State of the Union, Vice President Dick Cheney firmly agreed with host, Candy Crowley, that Obama has waged a successful war on terror and that he has secured more successes than the Bush administration. But Cheney slammed Obama for failing to call his anti-terror efforts “what it is,” a “war on terror.”
McCain (on CNN) dismissed the thought! "He dismissed the idea that the Bush administration deserves any apology after having used those methods:

MCCAIN: The vote was 90 to 6 in the United States Senate to prohibit cruel and inhumane mistreatment — this amendment, a piece of legislation that I was a sponsor of. The Senate has spoken, the American people have spoken, people of the world have spoken. Torturing people in violation of international agreements such as the Geneva Conventions is prohibited and frankly very harmful to the image of the United States of America."The American people, all who served in the Iraq war and were maimed, killed, or are now back home with shattered lives, no jobs, and little to show for their service are the ones owed the apology.. The American people who have to live with the results of the hate earned from the rest of the world that believes in the Geneva Convention and believed that America has respect for it, also.
