SENATOR JOSEPH McCARTHY REBORN THROUGH FOX NEWS AND THE CONSPIRACY THEORISTS

Having lived through the era of McCarthyism, I thought our country would be too smart to ever allow it to be repeated.  I was wrong.  The evil ones grabbed the idea and it has proliferated through radio and TV, especially through Fox News).  It hadn't occurred to me as I have been listening to all the conspiracy theories that insidiously, the fear mongers have done their job and the gullible have bought it all.

Allowing this to continue, Rush Limbaugh has gotten extremely wealthy doing it, as has Glenn Beck and so many others.

They are a cancer of untruths and, if allowed to continue, those who are not educated enough or exposed to enough truths will continue to follow like sheep to the voices of the snake oil salesmen.

PROOF COMING OUT DAILY TO WASHINGTON INCOMPETENCE IN THE LEGISLATURE ON ALL LEVELS.

Apparently aides and legislators cannot tell the difference between reality and humor.  Apparently Mitch McConnell's aide did not realize they believed the satire of The Onion and wrote an offensive letter with the stamped signature of the Senator, believing that our government was giving full Veteran's rights to prisoners in Guantanamo.

Rand Paul and Lindsay Graham have been taken in by blogs of some with extreme right leanings but with no truth.  Read an article by Jennifer Rubin as she writes about why Rand Paul is formidable.  Click here.
Rand Paul
Rand Paul also has said he, as President, will cut off all foreign aid, even that to Israel.  He may be pandering to potential voters but, if that is so, he is really assuring his loss as he is speaking to a gross minority.

The Hill posted a column on Rand Paul's views currently about the GOP.  It will help you understand the danger of having people in the Legislature who have no respect for the President, his position, or the platform of the person and party who won the Presidency. It is difficult for me to respect the disrespectful.

THE MILITIAS, PREPARING FOR A REVOLOUTION, ARE PROBABLY BBETTER ARMED THAN OUR NATIONAL UARDhe militias who have been preparing fopr a

When are people going to recognize that the Republican House of Representatives and Congress are sabotaging the United States.  I listened to them impeach President Clinton who was good for the country but had a personal moral failure that did not interfere with his governance.

What I would like to see is the power behind them that has them terrified to do their job properly.  Perhaps I should ask for whom they are working since it is clear they are not working for their constituents.  It was clear a couple of years ago that Governor Walker is working for the Koch brothers.  Are the rest of the evil governors who are trying to limit voting in their states and are so misogynistic also working for the Koch's?

What is happening with the Grover Norquist pledge?  Wasn't that . in essence, 'vote no on tax raises and we will help you get re-elected'?  For whom else are they allowing the unemployed and the hungry suffer?
The ethics violations have run rampart.

John Brabender, a Republican strategist, spoke about many of the things wrong with the Republican party at present. He spoke the truth but it is meaningless.  Unless there is some cohesiveness between the former conservative Republicans and the ultra conservative Teapartiers, they will continue to drive voters away.  While they argue about the party, those governors within the party are destroying their states.  If
continue to get their way, lying and sabotaging democracy, we will be back at square one...a failing country on the verge of a revolution.

Rachel Maddow  described the Sequestration threat like wearing a meat hat and walking into a lion's den.;  I thought it a wonderful analogy but it fails to move the Republicans even though some of their own are calling them the  'stupid; party.

LIFE GOES ON

There is such great excitement to see a brand new life.  Today I saw my twenty seven hour old great grandson and the miracle of human birth was there in front of me again.  This little being, tracking eyes and letting himself be known to all that he is in this world doing what multi-millions of babies have  been doing on earth for centuries.  He is trying to acclimate himself to the foreign surroundings away from the comfort of his mother's womb for the first time.

Welcome to our world, little one.  You fought your way out and, hopefully, by the time you realize where you are, through the effort of many, it might become a better place to live than it is currently.  You are wished all the health and happiness someone on the other end of life's spectrum can wish you.

DEFINING MASOCHISM

A few months ago I bought an iPad.  In today's world, anything bought that is manufactured requires a significant learning curve.  Having used PCs since the early I was told it is very intuitive.  I'm apparently missing that gene.

The manual I bought was far too long to be read cover to cover since my boredom reader is far below a few pages of learning things that I am not going to immediately and repetitively use.  But the iPad is just a small portion of the learning curve I'm riding on.  Having a laptop (PC) for a few years that came with Vista on it, i would have left this life cursing the designers who coded that system.
Aside from being a resource hog, my life was spent saying 'Yes' to the stupid machine, letting it know that it wa okay to download something, okay to change the registry (which has to be changed if you are installing a program and is a given), the okay that you meant the other okays.  I had a new operating system (WIN 7) put on.  Dis early DOS, I was able to move up in operating systems and in a very short time I knew the changes and had been able to digest them all.  WIN 7 is probably a good operating system but it is analogous  to learning a new foreign language.

Today I bought (simply because the mother board decided to go to Heaven) an iMac, 27", with lots of space, an external drive for back up and external CD/DVD drive.  It is a lovely feeling to master any of the commands but there are so many of them!  Of course these are only a few of the things to learn.  A Keurig is easy to use but it has a computer and you must learn how to set that up.  It also requires reading the maintenance instructions.  When it starts barely dribbling coffee out and what used to be a full cup is now a portion, it is time to take the water out of the well, fill it with white cider vinegar, , and make several cups of vinegar in a cup.  This gets rid of  the deposit of minerals on those little tubes in
there.

And so life goes on daily.  I wonder where all that free time I used to squeeze into my life went.  Who am I kidding?  I never had free time.  My masochistic life was only possible by living with constant sleep deprivation.    'Retirement' hasn't changed a thing.  The time is filled with things to be learned and things  be repaired, cleaned, renewed, replaced, carried up or down, sorted, polished, sent, wrapped, and even eaten.  That list barely scratches the surface.

MC CAIN SHOWS WHY IT WAS GOOD HE WAS NOT ELECTED PRESIDENT

To hear the vacillations of McCain on Chuck Hagel and try to understand what his real objections really are, click here and watch and listen to trying to obfuscate by bringing up last nominations and bashes  hing the Democrats on how they handled them.  Be sure to follow the whole interview.

McCain spends a lot of time talking about having to know the truth about Benghazi.  He claims there is a cover up of information concerning the death of four brave Americans.  This is totally out of Hagel's knowledge or responsibility.  Even though McCain has been told there is an investigation but thinks it is up to him to know everything and do his own investigation.  He does not see his ridiculous, irresponsible stance.

The absurdity of his position and inability to stay on point proves we are lucky he was not elected as President.

WHY SHOULD THERE BE FEAR OF GUN REGISTRATION

Today on Meet the Press with David Gregory, Captain Mark Kelly was being interviewed about the work he and Gabby Gifford are doing towards gun control.  I heard it mentioned that people are afraid of gun registration but that no one is calling for that.  I beg to differ.  If people are buying guns for self protection and to be ready to protect our nation should we need it, why would they care if they are registered.  If the gun has been legally obtained and used properly and legally, why shouldn't guns and bullets from them be traceable to aid law enforcement when trying to solve a crime by illegal use of guns?

Privacy should be a valuable part of what we all may claim.  However, privacy is limited to those who do not threaten the safety or their own lives or others, in the mental health world.  Though I believe our laws have gone too far with that one, making suicide 'forbidden' or the right top die, that is a subject for another blog.

The laws may differ from state to state, but there are towns that demand that guns be registered.  There is obviously no way, at present, for that to be enforced, but it should work for the protection of the gun owner.  If a gun registered is stolen, reported, and a crime committed with it, that alone would not prove that the owner planned the crime and reported the loss beforehand  However, the law looks at many elements and there would be little question as they do a thorough check of the owner's life and activity that, indeed, someone else committed a crime with the owner's gun.  We knew that the killer at Sandy Hook was not the owner only when we learned that his mother had been shot to death with her own gun before the massacre at the school..

Just as free speech is not always free;  privacy does not always guarantee that we remain private. In today's world we are losing more and more privacy.  Our computers are tracked when we are on the internet by so many and inofrmation about us stored by a company or companies who do great business selling our information to others.  For a few dollars we can find out information on our friends and  neighbors.  Doesn't that suggest there are limitations to the definition of privacy?

Lastly, privacy and secrecy are not synonymous.  That does not seem to be universally accepted.
