SENATOR JOSEPH McCARTHY REBORN THROUGH FOX NEWS AND THE CONSPIRACY THEORISTS

Having lived through the era of McCarthyism, I thought our country would be too smart to ever allow it to be repeated.  I was wrong.  The evil ones grabbed the idea and it has proliferated through radio and TV, especially through Fox News).  It hadn't occurred to me as I have been listening to all the conspiracy theories that insidiously, the fear mongers have done their job and the gullible have bought it all.

Allowing this to continue, Rush Limbaugh has gotten extremely wealthy doing it, as has Glenn Beck and so many others.

They are a cancer of untruths and, if allowed to continue, those who are not educated enough or exposed to enough truths will continue to follow like sheep to the voices of the snake oil salesmen.

'A NEW LOW' WOULD BE GOOD IOF WE WERE TLAKING ABOUT THE NATIONAL DEBT

Unfortunately it can only be used about the nastiest lies and campaign tactics eve seen,  Campaigns have never been without their 'stretching the truth' but they have not been so low as to insult a sitting president with lies of his being 'not one of us', in so many words.  Perhaps it is because we allow marketers to run campaigns.  They are only interested in scamming the public for better gain and selling their product, just as Bain Capital has never been a job producer but a their practices have been a means to make profit for the company which has done well.

John McCain who spoke in defense of Huma Abedin was to be loudly acclaimed as someone in our government with a sense of honesty and morality about defaming  the innocent.  Anderson Cooper also championed Ms. Abedin.  For more on this, click here.

Romney is a coward who hides behind the vitriol of people like M Bachmann, Rush Limbaugh, John Sununu and others. Mr. Romney, clean up your act.  You are fooling no one.  You have no substance nor are you showing integrity.  You may be getting all the money for your campaign from those who know you will continue to be their puppet if they can get you elected but none of you re thinking of your country.  Stop projecting all your faults onto Obama.  He has everything you lack but the amount of your wealth.

WHOM SHALL I BELIEVE?

Lately there have been some real whoppers on radio and TV. Bill Nye, (the Science guy and creator of the xeriscape) was on the Rachel Maddow show. He explained the science involved in global warming and said scientists know it is real but it also brings severe weather. The Fox News liars laughed because Washington had a snow storm and denigrated Gore for his belief in global warming because of it.

He clearly thinks out of the box in a refreshing way. His opinion of those that laughed at Gore because it snowed in Washington, D.C. were that they ridiculed proven science and that, because they were doing this, it made them unpatriotic because we depend so much on science. That may sound like a serious leap, but it really isn't. We have one planet and his hope is that people will understand what is happening to Earth in that we have had record breaking warmer years and that global change rather than global warming would have been a better term to use.

Those who deny that there is climate change are in the class with all the other deniers, like those who believe there was no Holocaust, Obama is not an American citizen, evolution can't be proven because it is only a theory, etc. I would like to see the FCC or some other governmental regulatory agency fine TV stations, who purport to be newscasters, for every lie (not mistake) they tell on air. It is far more damaging to our children that off-color language which is prohibited. Dirty words and concepts are picked up by kids everywhere and most parents can correct their children; but lies about people the parents don't know, spread by people they 'trust' like Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Pat Robertson, and too many others, aren't going to be straightened out because the parents don't know enough to do it.

GET ENTERTAINMENT RATINGS OUT OF THE NEWS SHOWS

We have Oscars and Emmys and lots of other awards for the best of a category. Perhaps someone should set up a new contest to incorporate the news media since it has now fully slipped into an entertainment category.

As long as we now have Beck, O'Reilly, Hannity, Limbaugh, Palin, Malkin, and I could just go on and on, we have the greatest lot of prevaricators as to what is going on in the world. Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are the only two who admit they are comedians though many of us get a far better picture of reality from them than the aforementioned.

It is pitiful that our news media has allowed itself to be in bondage to ratings rather than truth. If you need to find out whether you are a good judge of ethics, morality, veracity, admirable modeling...know that you are not a good judge if you enjoy any of those listed above. It is unlikely that you will agree with me if you see that this is truthful about you, but it doesn't make it less applicable whether you agree or not.

We need to resurrect the old newsroom cast, with crushed felt hats, cigars or cigarettes hanging from the mouth, and the guts to print the truth.

Sarah Palin, who is not openly running for office and yet has never stopped campaigning as though she were, is talking as though she expects people to believe her.

ODDS AND TIDBITS: MORE ON ABUSE OF FREE SPEECH

Bill O'Reilly, Sexist and Proud of It Posted by ZP Heller, Brave New Films at 3:00 PM on May 7, 2009. It will always puzzle me how so many people are unable to see through the lies and nastiness that people like Bill O'Reilly, Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Michael Savage, among others, get rich on while poor people stay poor and misinformed by listening to them. Limbaugh can enjoy his 24,000 sq foot house while he makes the common man's life more of a problem, having done so much to support the terrible choices the past Administration made in the last eight years.

Another One Bites the Dust: Joe the Plumber Is Quitting the GOP Posted by Staff, Huffington Post at 11:12 AM on May 7, 2009. Time Magazine is reporting - burying rather - the news that Joe the Plumber, also known as Samuel Wurzelbacher, is quitting the GOP.

The Secret Right-Wing Strategy on Health Care—Exposed! Posted by Bernie Horn at 10:13 AM on May 7, 2009. If conservatives make the debate about what is good and bad in the Obama plan - they will win.

While Cheney goes around bragging that we have not had a terrorist attack since he and Bush used torture and kept us all safe. Well, I for onr, do not consider us safe at all. We may have not been attacked from the outside, but the dangers within the country still persist. When a sports announcer talks about about shooting Nancy Pelosi twice and strangling Harry Reid and Osama ben Laden, Olbermann's term 'abuse of free speech' says it all for me.

ONE SIZE FITS ALL DOES NOT DEFINE PEOPLE

There are many things in life to distress me. Among the worst are the pessimists, the paranoid, the slippery-slopers, those who can only see black and white, blamers but not responsibility takers, and people who think if one apple is rotten, it follows that all apples are rotten. When the Legislators and Media hot shots keep talking about all the people at AIG caused the destruction of the behemoth company, so none of them should get a promised bonus (even those who had nothing to do with trading and for whom the bonus serves in lieu of adequate salary). It should then follow that all Representatives and Senators are immoral, crooks, liars, greedy self-serving unconscionable people and worse, because the House and Senate have at times had some of all the above.

Why then does the media stir the pot of mob rage and fail to try to find out that the one-size-fits-all judgment is inaccurate? Even those in Media whom I trust the most, Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow have disappointed me because they have allowed themselves to be swept up by the angry, ill-informed mob. Should we then equate them, as Media people, and say they are ultra-conservatives like Fox News staff? Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are all entertainers who make comment on the news. Does anyone consider them all alike? I would hardly think an intelligent person could do this. Why then has the media been able to whip up a feeding frenzy that is endangering the careers, reputation, and safety of the many loyal employees within AIG, Bank of America, and some of the other places currently where guilty, as well as innocent, are being thrown under the bus?

The Media, as well as the Legislators have the power to search out the truth, analyze the total situation before presenting it to the people. Instead, they are revving up the populace for repeat acts like the massacre at Columbine, the Spanish Inquisition, or the French Revolution with its guillotines. The media ought to hire people who can work on curing the hopelessness that exists in so many who are eager to displace their anger onto innocents; too ready to believe if you work with bad executives you must also be evil. President Obama, in my opinion, did the right thing to go on the Tonight Show and reach 200,000 million people rather than the pitiful few he might reach being on the often-biased political shows, when they are attempting to be fair and balanced but end up giving credence to ridiculous, near-thought0-disordered zealots. The Chariot of Hope on which Obama rode into office is fast being eroded by the Media and others. People are too impatient. The time it will take to fix the mess we are in from the Bush Administration should be very clear to anyone whose eyes and mind are open.

Wikipedia: "Patience (pā-shəns) is the state of endurance under difficult circumstances, which can mean persevering in the face of delay or provocation without becoming annoyed or upset; or exhibiting forbearance when under strain, especially when faced with longer-term difficulties. It is also used to refer to the character trait of being steadfast."

What happened to the patience of the American people who were able to wait out the Cheney/Bush tenure to be able to vote for some people who might make a difference and begin to put into place a cure for our ailing country? Where are the voices of ideas and hope which are not to be found in Media circles?

RUSH LIMBAUGH ASKS , "WHO IS RUNNING THE COUNTRY?"

As I was replacing batteries in the radio I keep for emergencies (if power should be lost), I recognized a familiar voice as the radio sparked into volume...Rush Limbaugh. Choking to control my gag reflex, I heard him take off on a negative, vitriolic, blast at Obama. He asks why Obama can never talk without a teleprompter. If I hadn't thought the man was ignorant before, that one sentence would have convinced me. Rush, of course, is not important enough to be speaking to millions on TV time that has to be carefully timed. He also must have no memory of the campaign in which Obama ad-libbed more than most of the memorized, canned speeches from most of the automatons running at the time. Further, he has not noted that the man is sticking to his campaign promises as closely as is possible in the current political and economic wars among the Legislature. USA Election Polls on 3/9/2009 state: Republicans Now Seen As A Leaderless Party
Tags: General (3/9) - Synopsis
68% of Republican voters say they have no clear leader. If Rush thinks he is going to make a leader for them, I think that would be extremely inappropriate of him.

Further, he went on to say that the Stimulus bill was not read by Obama. The high rating the citizens of the country give Obama does not reach this grandiose, narcissitic, over-confident blowhard. He accused Nancy Pelosi of having written it. I think he called it something that rhymed with Ridiculous Bill, probably taken as a take-off on Bill Maher's Religulous movie.

In honesty, I must admit, I had never voted for GW and it wasn't until he had made so many majority-harmful decisions like stopping government support for stem cell research, withdrawal of funds to African family clinics that offered family planning assistance (thus making sure that babies would be born to suffer malnutrition and illness for the few months of their life, impulsively starting a war that caused the deaths and ruined lives of millions, and other decisions which were destructive to so many. It was not the first time that someone came into office for whom I had not voted, but I considered myself intelligent enough to allow enough time in office to demonstrate why others thought he was worth the office. Though rare (she says with a blush), I have been known to be wrong in judging people. I wished that was true here but as books began to pop up like Bush's Brain and so many brilliant offerings on the blunders of the Bush Administration, I joined the throng of negative voices about the man, his history, and how he was running my country. Objectively, I have to stress I did not do it less than a month after he had come to office and had reinforcement of my criticisms to support my dislike of the man as my President.

Since Limbaugh represents no constituents and is not running for office, only for ratings to keep the station owners happy, he has little pressure on him. His oratory of lies carries him as though he speaks from the pulpit, so enthralled of him are some of his listeners.

Since Rush Limbaugh seems to rewrite history so often to suit any point he wishes to make, anyone who is aware of the truth does not view what he says as credible. His addiction to prescription drug abuse has not added to my wish to find him worthy of my respect or trust. that which worries me most of all is that so many, seemingly intelligent people, seem to reflect a faith similar that held for clergy for him. That this showman says there is no one heading the Republican party is visibly accurate. To say there is no one heading the Democratic party is a reflection of his inability to see reality, but that he fabricates for himself and passes on to confuse his already uninformed listeners.

THE TIDE HAS TURNED

For years, Rush Limbaugh has had a following that shocks me with their loyalty since the man has had so many lies caught and published. I suppose if you only listen to him, you never hear the contradictions to what he says. Media Matters for America has posted an interesting article you may want to check out. It starts: Rush Limbaugh, the marauding Frankenstein's monster of the Republican Party, is on the loose again, causing all kinds of political damage with his signature off-balance swings. But as has become his custom recently, the pain from Limbaugh's rampage is being felt by his creators -- his enablers -- inside the GOP. The article is a long one and only someone dedicated to hearing the whole story will read it, but it is better than my trying to paraphrase the whole thing.

Olbermann had a special message on FISA. You can see the text or watch the video on YouTube.
