'A NEW LOW' WOULD BE GOOD IOF WE WERE TLAKING ABOUT THE NATIONAL DEBT

Unfortunately it can only be used about the nastiest lies and campaign tactics eve seen,  Campaigns have never been without their 'stretching the truth' but they have not been so low as to insult a sitting president with lies of his being 'not one of us', in so many words.  Perhaps it is because we allow marketers to run campaigns.  They are only interested in scamming the public for better gain and selling their product, just as Bain Capital has never been a job producer but a their practices have been a means to make profit for the company which has done well.

John McCain who spoke in defense of Huma Abedin was to be loudly acclaimed as someone in our government with a sense of honesty and morality about defaming  the innocent.  Anderson Cooper also championed Ms. Abedin.  For more on this, click here.

Romney is a coward who hides behind the vitriol of people like M Bachmann, Rush Limbaugh, John Sununu and others. Mr. Romney, clean up your act.  You are fooling no one.  You have no substance nor are you showing integrity.  You may be getting all the money for your campaign from those who know you will continue to be their puppet if they can get you elected but none of you re thinking of your country.  Stop projecting all your faults onto Obama.  He has everything you lack but the amount of your wealth.

MICELELE BACHMANN: IS SHE A STEPFORD WIFE?

As I have watched Bachmann speak, her face is quite expressionless and her tone often a monotone.  After listening to her husband (a psychologist on prejudicial  steroids) speak, all I can picture are the Stepford Wives.

Her speeches, as they are repeated by the media over and over, sound so robotic.  I itch to remove her batteries or de-mesmerize her.  She says the same things, lies, and hypocrisies and contradictions over and over.

The very thought that she might be President of anything makes me shudder.  I shudder worse when I think there are others who think as she does.  Our world was a far better place when people were more challenging of the people they elected.

I reiterate what I have often said, "All candidates ought to be given a written test for their competency to serve as Legislators and especially as President.  Bachmann has verbally flunked the test in economics, Constitutional law, foreign policy, biology, and humanity.  Goddess help us!.

INNER DEBATE: WATCH THE REPUBLICANS LIE OR THE HOCKEY PLAYOFFS?

Normally I am not a sports fan.  Normally I will watch any political debate.  Why then do I draw an inner 'ho hum' when I choose hockey over the opportunity to evaluate the Republican presidential candidates.  After thinking about it for a while, I realize we are in the Internet age and all it provides media for coverage.  There is little I haven't heard about the candidates, picked apart from every bias and other perspective possible.

It seemed to me in hearing as much of the debate I could stand until the danger of retching took over, I realized that if we voted any one of them into office, we were in danger of turning back the clock socially and morally to at least fifty years.

Mitt Romney has changed his tune so many times he is hardly worth watching.  He will say whatever he 'thinks' the New Hampshire electorate wants to hear.  He did it with a smooth smile that didn't change throughout the debate..
Tim Pawlenty, one of the least charismatic candidate around.  He is against the4 new Healthcare plan and will only argue that it is "Obamneycare"  That tells the public nothing about he might best serve them in the White House.  He is with the established Republicans.
Michele Bachmann was the scariest.  She believes that life is a God creation at the point of conception until natural death.  That means no abortion or death with dignity on her watch.  She has no background for history, foreign affairs, and little else that it would take to lead this country.  She has some naive, limited ideas that support the Teaparty but comes out with a firm conviction mostly on moral issues.
Newt Gingrich has run a ridiculous campaign that has in many ways thumbed his nose at the system   Word is out that he is led by his wife.  That is enough among the Republican leaders to count him out.
Herman Cain, articulate and a good salesman but who has said some very unpopular things such as he 'wouldn't be comfortable having a Muslim in his cabinet.
Rick Santorum, also an  ultra-conservative claims to listen to everyone's issues but neglects to say that it will be with a deaf ear.. 
Lastly, Ron Paul who makes some sense when he isn't being provocative,  may not be far enough right for those who would be his base.

 All of them were in favor of having the States handle the issues they felt the government was not taking in to control such as immigration, protecting against abortions, welfare, education, budgets; in other words, they are talking about working to roll back the laws we have lived with for years that they don't like and giving the states more freedom on the basis that the government hasn't done the right job.

Most of their time was spent ranting against Obama.  I did not hear anything constructive they have to offer other than running our lives with more religion as a foundation.  Admittedly, I did not follow every moment.  I heard nothing about raising income for running the government nor getting more jobs or helping the middle class raise its standard of living.

Despite the fact that this should be a good debate for laughs, I think sticking with the Hockey game offered a more stimulating evening.. The Bruins even won the game as added attraction.

REMINDER: OUR GOVERNMENT IS BY THE PEOPLE

Despite our US constitution requiring separation of church and state, we are being turned from democracy to an hagiocracy.  

People who believe they talk to God are now passing legislation on that basis and as Michele Bachmann has stated, she is running for the presidency because of her calling from God.  I do not want a country run by people who hear voices (other than their own) in their head.  For too many years I worked in a psychiatric facility which taught me that most of the people who talk to God directly are bipolar.  In the unlikely event that we have an emergency in our country that requires critical logic and an awareness of consequences to us all, I would like to have a President who thinks it out and knows the human advisers to contact, when necessary.

The world is fast growing in the number of Atheists it can count.  We do not adhere to the slogan In God We Trust.  This is a world in which man must develop skills, be educated to whatever job is being done, and make decisions on the basis of the world in 2011 and what it calls for.  Fig leaves, apples, and disbelief in evolution have no place in our governmental decisions.

Those politicians passing bills that limit abortion (a right accepted by Federal law), those who support the killing of physicians who legally perform abortions, those who are trying to redefine when life begins even prior to contraception by forbidding the use of contraceptives have no legal place serving as public servants as they clearly have no plan to follow our Federal laws or Constitution.   With so many needs to be attended to by our government, such as job creation and balancing a budget that ensures our survival as a country, these issues on which I wrote may not be at the top of the priority list.  Do we need to sit back and wait for Obama to do it all?  Where are the dissenting voices?  Why does the media not make more sources known where people can be heard to fight these Luddites who are too powerful due their election to office in our government?

NEWS IN TODAY'S WORLD

Americans continue to die in two wars in the Arab world, one inherited and the other drawn into by American greed.carried out by politicians' lies.  It seems the media chooses to focus on certain stories while ignoring  the spectacular rather than the necessary and interesting.  For years I've observed news people shove a microphone into  the face of a totally devastated mourner, tears streaming down their face, and ask, "Can you tell us what you are feeling now?"

Imagine that we should see as the leading news story on the BBC Americas page,  the funeral of the 9 year old killed in Tucson.  It is sad that it takes the inevitable and predicted deaths of innocents to confront deaf ears of the guilty that the right to free speech requires some use of common sense.  Hate rhetoric, TV, computer games, etc have done little to make a peace-loving new generation.  As in free software, after a trial period you have to buy the software to be able to run the program.  Similarly, in order to be accepted in the 'club', you have to prove yourself through your speeches and words. 

Sarah Palin has proven herself to be beautiful but somewhat brain dead in sensitivity to most of the people in the lower '48'. Ethics and morals are strangers to far too many. She may defend her right to free speech but she is yelling 'fire' in a movie theater.  I do not 'blame' her for the shooting. I have observed Michele Bachmann making no comments in the past few days, Glenn Beck making the kindest speech I have ever heard him make about toning down the hate speech, Palin whose writer didn't look far enough down the list of meanings of 'blood libel' to use a different phrase defended her poor choice.  I've learned that there are people who don't wish you to explain your meaning.  They know the words you used and that is all they wish to know.  The right choice of words distinguishes the great statesmen from the unsuccessful ones.  Sarah Palin failed that round.

Rand Paul on Hannity speaks of 'they' and what 'they ' have to do.  That vague  
they' allows him to continue to talk about the ideal without any real way of knowing what has to be done to get there other than his suggestion of needing new leadership in Washington, obviously forgetting that it what we voted in two years ago to undo what the Bush administration did to our economics.  Rand Paul has zeal but lacks experience to see ahead to political consequences.  I don't mean about his own re-election, I mean the results to our countrymen if his policies are enacted.

HAS ALL THE HATRED AND DEMAND TO TAKE THE GOVERNMENT BACK FINALLY BROKEN THROUGH CIVILITY AND SANITY?

From Palin's maps with gun sites marking the targets, (see Maddow blog here) To the vitriol of Limbaugh, Beck, Bachmann and others, it seems no wonder that another misfit tries to solve his perceived problems.  Just as anti-abortionists take no responsibility for the death, by shooting outside a church, one has to wonder just how long Americans are willing to put up with the violent rhetoric we to which we have been subjected and which has been escalating since the majority of Americans voted Obama  to the Presidency.  There is no secrecy in our society as to the degree of hatred Republicans have felt, stirred to expression by some media,  for Obama to have been elected President two hears ago.

YouTube gives some lovely examples as to how easy it is to misinterpret the meanings behind statements of determination as, for example, in the second verse of the Star Spangled Banner.  Most of ujs have never heard it and I don't suppose it will pass Supreme Court Challenge as to whether it is 'politically correct' any longer.  Click here to hear it sung. The group hearing it does not seem to understand that it is the elected government which decided whether we are to fight our enemies...not individual or self-appointed posses.

TEAPARTY WOMEN GIVETHE FEMALE GENDER A VERY BAD IMAGE

Most people hear non-profit and don't realize that people are not all volunteers.  Many are highly paid and run non-profit organizations as their primary source of income.  Wikipedia writes:  Christine Therese O'Donnell (born August 27, 1969) is an American Republican Party politician who founded two advocacy organizations and has been an advocate for nonprofit clients and nonprofit causes for nearly 20 years.  She is currently being accused of mismanaging her campaign funds  For more on her, click here and click here. where you will re-read some of the craziest things she has said.  

Michele Bachmann, is another loose cannon.  A hint of her came out in an interview with Chris Mathews in  November 2010.  Click here.  Be sure to watch her on video in this post.   She behaves like a Joe McCarthy replacement in drag.  For whatever strange reason, Boehner has put her on the Intelligence committee.  As ridiculous as she was before her election, she did cite as the first order of business that taxes should not be raised (as part of her acceptance speech in November) loudly proclaiming that is exactly what the Democrats have in mind...raising taxes.

Timothy Dalrymple wrote  "Loser: Republican women, and women in general.:"   " Carly Fiorina and Meg Whitman had a lot going for them: sophisticated, intelligent, competent, extraordinary experience as entrepreneurs and executives, with loads of money and strong connections in the business community.  At a time of financial peril, with California and Washington facing budgetary crises the likes of which we have not seen for a generation or two, with a maligned President of the opposing party — they still could not get elected."Angle and O’Donnell also lost, and their weirdness (together with that of Michelle Bachmann), played up ad nauseum in the media, arguably hurt the image of the conservative woman.  All were made out to be shrieking harpies.  2010 was billed as the rise of the conservative woman — and especially the conservative Christian woman.  Yet it was tough.  Angle lost by a surprising margin, O’Donnell lost by an unsurprising but very large margin, and Fiorina and Whitman also lost handily.  The Mama Grizzlies and the Mama CEO’s didn’t fare so well".  To read the entire Dalrymple article which is quite enlightening about feelings expressed and acted on about women, click here.

Clearly there are many men out there who believe most women don't belong in politics.  There is not a singular reason for that.   Some may be threatened, some women don't behave in a predictable 'old boy' manner, and some women prove they can do what men are unable to do in so many ways.
