TEAPARTY WOMEN GIVETHE FEMALE GENDER A VERY BAD IMAGE

Most people hear non-profit and don't realize that people are not all volunteers.  Many are highly paid and run non-profit organizations as their primary source of income.  Wikipedia writes:  Christine Therese O'Donnell (born August 27, 1969) is an American Republican Party politician who founded two advocacy organizations and has been an advocate for nonprofit clients and nonprofit causes for nearly 20 years.  She is currently being accused of mismanaging her campaign funds  For more on her, click here and click here. where you will re-read some of the craziest things she has said.  

Michele Bachmann, is another loose cannon.  A hint of her came out in an interview with Chris Mathews in  November 2010.  Click here.  Be sure to watch her on video in this post.   She behaves like a Joe McCarthy replacement in drag.  For whatever strange reason, Boehner has put her on the Intelligence committee.  As ridiculous as she was before her election, she did cite as the first order of business that taxes should not be raised (as part of her acceptance speech in November) loudly proclaiming that is exactly what the Democrats have in mind...raising taxes.

Timothy Dalrymple wrote  "Loser: Republican women, and women in general.:"   " Carly Fiorina and Meg Whitman had a lot going for them: sophisticated, intelligent, competent, extraordinary experience as entrepreneurs and executives, with loads of money and strong connections in the business community.  At a time of financial peril, with California and Washington facing budgetary crises the likes of which we have not seen for a generation or two, with a maligned President of the opposing party — they still could not get elected."Angle and O’Donnell also lost, and their weirdness (together with that of Michelle Bachmann), played up ad nauseum in the media, arguably hurt the image of the conservative woman.  All were made out to be shrieking harpies.  2010 was billed as the rise of the conservative woman — and especially the conservative Christian woman.  Yet it was tough.  Angle lost by a surprising margin, O’Donnell lost by an unsurprising but very large margin, and Fiorina and Whitman also lost handily.  The Mama Grizzlies and the Mama CEO’s didn’t fare so well".  To read the entire Dalrymple article which is quite enlightening about feelings expressed and acted on about women, click here.

Clearly there are many men out there who believe most women don't belong in politics.  There is not a singular reason for that.   Some may be threatened, some women don't behave in a predictable 'old boy' manner, and some women prove they can do what men are unable to do in so many ways.

According to Daniel Tencer of The Raw Story, at least 78 Republican candidates would force a woman to bear rapist's babies.  Apparently we have our old fiend friend Phyllis Schlafly (who started this group) to thank for this.  As I read this, I tried to play out some possible scenarios in my head.  #1 a mother of five, husband out of work, little money to pay for groceries and the roof over their heads, is raped and left pregnant.  How would forcing her to have this baby help any one?  Balancing out those five children of hers watching her belly grow, forcing her husband to have to raise the child as his because they are legally married or find a less legal solution, and let us all hope there will be no psychological consequences added to their current mind-numbing woes.

#2  daughter, with a sister who is also adulterously being used by their father, finds herself pregnant as a result.  Mother is no longer able to look on with denial since the daughter has clearly not dated.  The marriage does not survive, mother and two daughters now without the father as a breadwinner struggle for survival.  Adding to their misery, father goes to jail when the doctors find out who the father of the child is and he is sent to jail.

I'm sure I could go on with these scenarios, many of which I've been pretty close to in my years of practicing family therapy.  For a group professing to want less government, how can there be an intelligent human being who doesn't see through their hypocrisy?  It translates to "Get out of my life, government, unless it is something I want...regardless of whether my fellow man agrees, because I am biased and pigheaded with the wish to inflict my values on all."

Tana Ganeva published, in AlterNet, five GOP candidates who would force women to bear children as the result of rape.  They are: 1. Rand Paul (Kentucky); Christine O'Donnell (Delaware), Sharron Angle (Nevada), Ken Buck (Colorado), Joe Miller (Alaska).  One can only seriously question the judgment (or even sanity) of  those politicians who consider this a worthwhile platform to run on in an era when people need to eat, pay rent, taxes, and survive in the job-hungry economy.  That should tell their supporters something critical but it is not likely to do much because, unfortunately, their supporters are as fanatical as they with equally poor sense of what the country needs to survive.  Lots of money is pouring into the coffers of these candidates and, again, one has to wonder where ti is coming from.  These people are driving our country to H*** in the proverbial hand basket, for sure.

I can see Uncle Sam on the floor yelling now, "Help!. Help!, I've fallen and I can't get up!"

WHICH POLITICIANS LIVE IN TODAY'S WORLD?

With someone like Christine O'Donnell thinking she can solve the 'people's problems' with something like an edict that there will be no more masturbation, I wonder if she has a plan to control or stop rape.  In British Columbia recently, a Rave party resulted in a 16 year old being drugged and gang raped, filmed, and the rape made into a YouTube.  The teen who placed it on YouTube was contacted by authorities and took the video down, but not before others had copied it.  It immediately appeared on other sites and the law is unable to assure it will not appear again, forcing this young woman to have to live the assault over and over again.  For more details on this story, click here.

It would be impossible for me to vote for the shallow thinking of the more outspoken Teapartiers who have gotten themselves as candidates in the Republican party.  The inconsistencies in their revealed platforms and agendas defy one's ability to respect their thinking, or the notion that they will represent the majority of people in their district.  Their rhetoric makes it appear that they think they have been anointed by the Christian God to whom they pray to mright their perceived ills of their fellow citizens, not to make the world work better, but to force those people to behave in a manner they approve.  These are the people who say they want government out of their lives!

Today, known as TPN (The Tea Party Nation) by which their name alone lets us known how little they are team players with the rest of Americans, To better understand their goals and platform, click here.  They preface their own description with:  "Tea Party Nation is a user-driven
 group of like-minded people who desire our God-given individual
 freedoms written out by the Founding Fathers. We believe in Limited 
Government, Free Speech, the 2nd Amendment, our Military, Secure 
Borders and our Country."  It is not clear to me where their 'God-given'  rights, spoken of by men 300 years ago who knew nothing of science, evolution, or any other of the insights gained to the truth of our Universe since then, might change our outlook.  More than forty years ago, a couple of academics in prestigious institutions saw no reason not to smoke Marijuana and use other drugs to tune out the the pressing problems of the day.  It produced a generation of post-adolescents who had 'tuned out' their most important development years, left with few adequate skills with which to cope with life.

 

The lack of knowledge in some of the Teapartiers about economics, human nature, the Constitution, and so much else appalls me.  Christine O'Donnell, in a snit because the Republicans as a total group are not happy with her candidacy representing herself as a Republican, recently was quoted as saying, "I have often said, "I do not want the Republican Party taking over the Tea Party. I want the Tea Party to take over the Republican Party." 

In other words, they advise, 'don't compromise or look for the good of all, just take over and force your beliefs on all citizens'.  This smacks strongly of a group dictatorship. The anti-abortion zealots strive to force everyone to live by a religious code not shared by all.  Not all want to live by Christian beliefs of a particular denomination when our Constitution guarantees there will be separation of Church and State.  This group professes to "take back' our country and their actions would translate as rather treasonous as Republicans work to make our President fail rather than work to make the country stronger for all its people. 

Unfortunately, otherwise intelligent people are being taken in by their own subtle racial prejudice, their belief in the propaganda and lies they are being told by loud voices they believe to be the truth rather than simple self-serving loud mouths whose singular goal is to make money by their support,  and these good citizens have no idea how they are failing their own country.  Brain washing remains a powerful threat to the future of our country.  Overthrowing the government, I believe, is still  considered treason.

REPUBLICAN LEADERS NOT TOO HAPPY ABOUT DELAWARE ELECTIONS

If people think one Republican is just like another Republican, they would be very much mistaken. In Delaware Christine O'Donnell is not seen as preferred candidate nor felt that she has a better chance of winning the election than her opponent.  If you are having difficulties understanding the platform on which the
Teapartiers stand, you are not alone.  The contradictions are mind boggling.  While fighting to make the government less intrusive and smaller in our lives, Christine O'Donnell wants the government to force females as young as 13, who are raped by strangers or incestuously, to bear the children as a result of those rapes. 

Christine O'Donnell seems, by all I have searched on her, to violate the Constitution with her goals.  Wikipedia on O'Donnell says: "O'Donnell also served as a spokesperson for Concerned Women for America, a Conservative Christian political action group which seeks to apply biblical principles to issues of public policy."  I do not believe our Constitution has yet been amended to allow Christianity to rule the country.

Karl Rove finally was forced by the party to endorse O'Donnell but it doesn't erase his previous statements that she was an embarrassment to the party and was not likely to win.  It seems to me that  as long as the Teapartiers seemed 'against' the Democrats, it was missed that they were associated as being with' Republicans.  Voters in Arizona should also be advised that Sharron Angle is a disciple of Phyllis Schlafly.  When did we lose our sanity and our country?
