It seems more people are interested in Lindsay Lohan being sent back to jail than the state of poverty in our nation. With exquisite pain finally flooding him, just before elections, a justice department lawyer just had to blow the whistle though he has been confronted with this pain for years...coincidence that he finally decided to be a protected whistle blower? Oddly, while I heard this today on Fox News, I can find nothing on it anywhere online.
Glenn Beck believes that the violence at Teapartiers meetings is coming from the left though all evidence suggests the opposite. It is not indicated that many liberals attend Tea Party events.
On Ed Shultz (MSNBC) his poll revealed that an overwhelming per cent of responders believe that Glenn Beck and Chris Christie (the Bully, as he is known to most) are splitting the country/
Christie and splitting the country.
The Democrats are finally letting the public know more about what they have accomplished and what their goals are, as well as how they hope to implement action to achieve them.

WHEN A VACATION IS LESS THAN PERFECT
Little kids get homesick for their parents when they are away from them. Just talk to anyone who was sent to overnight camp before they were mature enough for the experience. As a senior, that explanation doesn't work for me or explain why I am frequently crawling up the walls when away from home. I'm surrounded by tourists who are enjoying themselves...or so they seem and speak. All I can see for myself is that I am the biggest tourist misfit there is. You might ask the criteria for this title. I do not sunbathe, do not like most Southern fried foods, have been here at this great vacation site before and saw the sights and would rather be at home in my own peaceful and personally controlled environment. I'm an anomaly...not agoraphobic, I just prefer my own home to being anywhere else, for the most part.
Typing on a laptop is an invitation to the typo fairy who visits me with great regularity. I spend most of my time trying to find things that are no longer either with me or where I thought I had put them. Much of what I think I need is at my home. This leaves me often disoriented and wondering why I am not at home where I could be doing what I want easily.
To make a vacation worthwhile, it should be a vast improvement over being at home Being an American in countries of great poverty is hardly uplifting. Having dirty little children grabbing at your hands and clothing to sell you a worthless object so they can have a meal is not relaxing to me. I cry when I see the TV ads to keep some child from illness and starvation for just a few pennies a day.
Vacationing on an island where everything has to be shipped in at great cost but since the ocfean cannot be seen, falls flat for me. At the local beach, a sign promising that you will pay a $250 fine if you go in swimming, makes beach attendance pale. Even walking on the beach, unless you are up at sunrise, falls flat as the professional collectors have, by now, stripped it clean of every shell, bit of beach glass, or pretty pebble. Fast food places have replaced the scenic areas once yielding lovely photographs.
At least a US vacation without having to be herded like cattle for air travel, allows one to throw more into a car. Nevertheless, I will continue to feel 'there is no place like home' Having no ruby heels to click, I will hop in my car and after only four or more gas tank fills, tolls every few feet, a few 'pit' stops, I will once again be home where my 'real' vacation will start.....my day and life fully on my own terms, in my own comfort, surrounded by all my own creature comforts, family and friends. ..

DEFINITION OF A CABLE NEWS CHANNEL
Wikipedia defines Cable News channels thusly: "Cable news Further information: United States cable news
Cable news refers to channels which are devoted to current events 24 hours per day. The originator of this format from which the name derives is CNN (as well as CNN International and CNN-IBN), which originally stood for cable news network in reference to the then-new phenomenon of cable television. As satellite and other forms have evolved, the term cable news has become something of an anachronism but is still in common use; many other channels have since been established, such as BBC World News, BBC News, Sky News, Al Jazeera, ABC News 24, France 24, STAR News, Fox News Channel, MSNBC, Press TV, Russia Today, teleSUR and ABC News Now. Some news channels specialize even further, such as ESPNews (sports from ESPN), CNBC, Bloomberg Television and Fox Business Network (financial).
A term which has entered common parlance to differentiate cable news from traditional news broadcasts is network news, in reference to the traditional television networks on which such broadcasts air. A classic example is the cable news channel MSNBC, which overlaps with (and, in the case of breaking world-changing events, pre-empts) its network counterpart NBC News."
Wikipedia on FOX CHANNEL NEWS, writes: "Critics have asserted that both Fox's news reporting and its political commentary promote conservative political positions.[3][4][5][6] Fox News Channel says that its political commentary and news reporting operate independently of each other and denies any bias in its news reporting.[7][8][9]".
There are those who believe they are getting 'fair and balanced' news on Fox News.; They believe it because they are told it and, of course, the TV doesn't lie, does it? Well, children, yes it does lie and Fox News, one of the biggest liars, equaled only by Rush Limbaugh and a few others on radio. Well, actually, Glenn Beck is really their poster boy.

LIES AND HYPOCRISY BY REPUBLICANS REIGN SHAMELESSLY
Morning in America has been rewritten to Mourning in America in an ad that should shame anyone who thinks it is true. To see it, click here. Republicans stoop below what one might have considered the bottom that even these heartless, unethical people can claim.
The beating goes on. Republicans stopped caring about the good of the country and have been working towards forcing Barack Obama to failure in his presidency. It bespeaks of hatred and the power of it. The Republicans breathe hatred out of their hearts and nostrils. Most of the country, the 98% not the richest, hope only to survive, feed and rear offspring and try to maintain parental self-respect, while raising children who can survive on their own.
Do those professing to value life in the fetus above all really believe any of what they say are their ideals? It certainly doesn't seem so to me!

INDUCING ENVY OR SADNESS?
Many who have followed the career of this beautiful and talented girl since her childhood may have at one point envied her success. But, today, one can only feel sadness at her addiction and poor life choices she has made.
What does this say about the idols our children have tried to emulate? Ms. Loman has been an excellent actress. She can make her emotions project so well that her audience 'feels' whatever she is trying to portray. Yet, it her public persona, that which she has projected is a willful, selfish, troubled young woman with little respect for the values of our society. One can only wonder how she got to the place in her life where she can be so arrogant about the laws of society.
Paris Hilton is another who is to be pitied. Both woman reflect our society as giving special treatment to these monied, beautiful women. Since our media is now so 'in your face', the average American is confronted with the unevenness of our justice system. Our youngsters can see these women continue to thumb their noses (figuratively) at society, its rules, and perhaps the parental figures with whom they have never resolved their childhood issues. As difficult as it may be for them, drugs are not a solution. Paris Hilton is no longer a perfectly 'made-up' young woman who can prove that even if you are not born as the most beautiful woman, by features, money can get you to that point acceptably.
Lohan had great acting talent, while Paris has money as her major strength. Both made the mistake of behaving as 'naughty girls' which may have been cute in some circles, it is no longer so in the eyes of those who find the label 'felon' not to be admired. It is limiting to one's life, at best, and not a label most of us choose to wear or even with which to associate to ourselves..

THE END OF THE SEASON
When a community has existed for families with children out of school, golfers, and sun worshippers, it becomes quite a different place. The pace of life slows down and people settle in to downtime from the summer madness. But, if you are a left over of the tourist season rather than a resident, everything seems different than any world you once knew. Twenty five miles from the mainland, the shape of the sands constantly shifts. Much of it has been declared a part of , This land, the Outer Banks (OBX to many) is part of the National Seashore.
for more detail, click here.
The article states: "Wind and water shape the island's dunes and inlets, and yet a maritime forest at Buxton provides a calm oasis. The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, tallest in the nation, was nearly claimed by the Atlantic Ocean but was rescued in the nick of time in 1999 by moving the entire structure away from the sea. But perhaps most importantly is the fact that Hatteras Island is one of the last places on earth where you can go on the Fourth of July weekend and stake out a stretch of beach to call your very own."
The season ends, the residents go back to living less frenetically, and go on to more regular lives. Some take the winters off, some go further south, some go back to school, and some just go back home and some stay around getting prepared for the next tourist invasion while others settle down to breathe easy again while serving only the locals for the winter.
In New England we can tell the summer is over when the leaves turned beautiful shades of reds, oranges, yellows, and other shades which is really beautiful. The southern shores let you know that summer is over by Hurricane warnings and few strangers around.

WHICH POLITICIANS LIVE IN TODAY'S WORLD?
With someone like Christine O'Donnell thinking she can solve the 'people's problems' with something like an edict that there will be no more masturbation, I wonder if she has a plan to control or stop rape. In British Columbia recently, a Rave party resulted in a 16 year old being drugged and gang raped, filmed, and the rape made into a YouTube. The teen who placed it on YouTube was contacted by authorities and took the video down, but not before others had copied it. It immediately appeared on other sites and the law is unable to assure it will not appear again, forcing this young woman to have to live the assault over and over again. For more details on this story, click here.
It would be impossible for me to vote for the shallow thinking of the more outspoken Teapartiers who have gotten themselves as candidates in the Republican party. The inconsistencies in their revealed platforms and agendas defy one's ability to respect their thinking, or the notion that they will represent the majority of people in their district. Their rhetoric makes it appear that they think they have been anointed by the Christian God to whom they pray to mright their perceived ills of their fellow citizens, not to make the world work better, but to force those people to behave in a manner they approve. These are the people who say they want government out of their lives!
Today, known as TPN (The Tea Party Nation) by which their name alone lets us known how little they are team players with the rest of Americans, To better understand their goals and platform, click here. They preface their own description with: "Tea Party Nation is a user-driven group of like-minded people who desire our God-given individual freedoms written out by the Founding Fathers. We believe in Limited Government, Free Speech, the 2nd Amendment, our Military, Secure Borders and our Country." It is not clear to me where their 'God-given' rights, spoken of by men 300 years ago who knew nothing of science, evolution, or any other of the insights gained to the truth of our Universe since then, might change our outlook. More than forty years ago, a couple of academics in prestigious institutions saw no reason not to smoke Marijuana and use other drugs to tune out the the pressing problems of the day. It produced a generation of post-adolescents who had 'tuned out' their most important development years, left with few adequate skills with which to cope with life.
The lack of knowledge in some of the Teapartiers about economics, human nature, the Constitution, and so much else appalls me. Christine O'Donnell, in a snit because the Republicans as a total group are not happy with her candidacy representing herself as a Republican, recently was quoted as saying, "I have often said, "I do not want the Republican Party taking over the Tea Party. I want the Tea Party to take over the Republican Party."
In other words, they advise, 'don't compromise or look for the good of all, just take over and force your beliefs on all citizens'. This smacks strongly of a group dictatorship. The anti-abortion zealots strive to force everyone to live by a religious code not shared by all. Not all want to live by Christian beliefs of a particular denomination when our Constitution guarantees there will be separation of Church and State. This group professes to "take back' our country and their actions would translate as rather treasonous as Republicans work to make our President fail rather than work to make the country stronger for all its people.
Unfortunately, otherwise intelligent people are being taken in by their own subtle racial prejudice, their belief in the propaganda and lies they are being told by loud voices they believe to be the truth rather than simple self-serving loud mouths whose singular goal is to make money by their support, and these good citizens have no idea how they are failing their own country. Brain washing remains a powerful threat to the future of our country. Overthrowing the government, I believe, is still considered treason.
