WHY LIES OFTEN WORK

If the best defense is an offense(as is often written); the Republicans are golden and very 'offensive'.It was shocking to read the paranoid detonation circulated by them.  If they truly believe this is true, why have they waited four years to try to correct it?  As a psychotherapist for over six decades, I recognize when someone is projecting.  (Projection is a defense mechanism that involves taking our own unacceptable qualities or feelings and ascribing them to other people. For example, if you have a strong dislike for someone, you might instead believe that he or she does not like you. Projection works by allowing the expression of the desire or impulse, but in a way that the ego cannot recognize, therefore reducing anxiety. (for more on defense mechanisms, click here)

It seems a pretty sad state for a party to assume that the best strategy to convince people they should run the country is to lie about issues which are publicly well-documented and quite accessible on Google searches,disqualified by reputable sources, and highly advertised on TV.
