REPUBLICAN CONVENTION CONFIRMS THEY ARE A WHITE, MALE, RACIALLY PREJUDICED, WHO WANT US BACK A CENTURY

There is little question in my mind, if the Republicans could also take away women's right to vote as well as choice as to what they do with their bodies, it would have happened already.  When a black CNN camera woman has nuts thrown at her while the tossers yell, :This is how we feed animals" before they are taken out, it tells us a lot about how participants and delegates are chosen or choose their party.  Since I found this article on BBC News, \Ii can only imagine what the truly free world thinks of us.  Worse is what our fellow Americans think of us.  ALLMEDIANY wrote an article after BBC did and said that, while the RNC knows the identity of the throwers, they had agreed not to reveal their names.  It does make me wonder why BBC published it first and whether any American media would have written about it had BBC not done it first.  It is most interesting to me that is was not one of the major networks to report it

Actually, the website:  Crooks and Liars wrote about it 14 hours before the BBC who still seems to be the first major network to have noted the event.  Their admonishing was:  "Keep it classy, Republicans."

That the truth with opinion comes from The Backwater Gazette should be telling to any casual, moderate observer.This writer starts the statement with 'Grand Old Racist Party'.  It is not difficult to recognize why that term was applied to the current Republicans who have earned the title.

Ah, when will people start seeing the truth and not the lies?

ROMNEY" DON'T GIVE UP YOUR DAY JOB.

Mitt Romney, the candidate who believes that no one need know his secrets of the past or his plans for the presidency of the United States in the next four years, went to Europe to dazzle voters and Europeans with his foreign policy expertise.  Instead of foreign policy expertise, he is showing remarkable ability for putting his foot in in his mouth, being offensive and untrustworthy (as in speaking of his invitations to MI6.  It would seem that the Koch brothers, Grover Norquist and all were so sure they could buy the presidency for him to be their puppet, that they didn't count on the fact that he might lose the election all by himself.

On his first day in England, he managed to  get himself in BBC News with a headline:  London Mayor Hits Out at Romney. London Mayor Boris Johnson chides Republican Mitt Romney for suggesting London is not ready for the Olympics, a day before the opening ceremony.To read this article, click here

LET'S MOVE MORE UP TO THE 1% ONE BITE AT A TIME?

Facebook unveiled plans to go public. I'm sure there are many who will buy stock to see themselves eventually move up to that wonderful 1% of the monied in the US.  Look at how many were made rich with Apple stock and Google among many others.   If you have money, you invest heavily and it is less a gamble if you are wise about doing your homework on trends and history of a company.  The NY Times writes:    "In its filing, Facebook, which has more than 800 million users worldwide, said it was seeking to raise $5 billion, according to a figure used to calculate the registration fee. The company will seek to have the ticker “FB” for its shares, but did not list an exchange."

Poor people can't get up enough money to take this legal , rich man's gamble.  The best they can do is by KENO or other lottery tickets. Relatively speaking, their return is much less likely to be realized, odds being what they are.

CYBERWARS

Matt Frei has written an article in the BBC News about the Stuxnet worm written, apparently, specifically to 'snafu'. He goes on to say,  ",,,this is a computer "worm" especially designed to disable software for power companies made by the German electronics giant Siemens and used by Iran's nascent nuclear industry.". He believes that the sophistication of the worm suggests it must be from only the resources afforded by a nation state.  He adds, "If this is all true -and I cannot completely banish the suspicion that this might be some elaborate hoax- then we have indeed entered an era of cyberwar."

Mr. Frei  writes excellent articles as a rule but that last thought makes me wonder where he has been for the past few years on the cyberwar front.  There have been cyberwars for years.  It is not something new.  Like all wars, we are not going to be hearing a lot of detail about them.  It is imperative that we stop thinking of war as something done only with guns, tanks, bombs, and death.  The War on Terrorism should have alerted even those who still think that Evolution is a theory, that the definition of war should be rewritten.  Wikipedia describes it as: " War is a phenomenon of organized violent conflict,^[1][2] typified by extreme aggression, societal disruption and adaptation, and high mortality."

This definition is as fitting in today's world as the story of Adam and  Eve in the Garden of Eden as the origin of man on earth.  It no longer can be taken as literally accurate.  We know too much.about secrecy involved in sabotage, revenge, desire to cripple institutions, grasp of power, and all the reasons that, in the past, have led us to open warfare.  There was a time, when men totally ran the world, that nothing but brute strength could be conceived as warring and winning.  We have become sufficiently civilized and our technology has advanced such, that power is won tactically as much as through brute force and killing more of the enemy than is lost on your own team.

Our world can no longer ignore the power of the Internet and Computers.  We are as dependent on computers as we are on the government  there to protect us and act as guardians of our liberty, economy, education, health, infrastructure and all those issues that should be foremost of any candidate's political platform today..  Software piracy is nothing new.  Anyone who has had a computer for any length of time knows that none are safe from intrusion onto private computers from outside hackers.  Without 'ports' we wouldn't be able to receive anything on the Internet.  People are getting far richer on security for computers than they are on home security these days..Ports have to be protected and we know that there is always someone hacking the best protected systems.

We have been at war on many fronts for many years; drug trafficking,  illegal immigration,  sabotage, terrorism, invasions of all sorts and so much more.  There is little indication that it will lessen in our future.
