REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES PLAYING MUSICAL CHAIRS BUT SEEM NOT TO KNOW WHEN THE MUSIC HAS STOPPED.

How are we to interpret the swiftly moving poll scores?  Conservatives don't like Mitt Romney though most Republicans seem to think his choice will be inevitable.

The money being bet is probably enough to lower our National debt but that won't happen.  My guess is that little money obtained from gambling gets to the general economy.  Gamblers just keep recycling it, except for the jewelry high rollers fund for their wives, mistresses or girlfriends.

It would seem that even some of the Republicans are smart enough to see they are in trouble.  It makes me wonder what Grover Norquist holds over the signers of the pledge that makes them so fearful to defy it.

Several, which included Cain, Bachmann,  do not think waterboarding is torture and would willing bring it back.  Cain, however, said additionally that he would go along with the military in this, not realizing that it was the CIA who thought to use it while the military is against it.

We who are older all feeling sorry for Perry's brain freeze but Cain has even topped him on that.  Cain had a total brain freeze that lasted several minutes about Libya.  He started to infer that he disagreed with Obama's handling but, then, it appeared that he realized he didn't know anything about it and didn't know whether Obama handled it well or not.

That there is not one strong Republican candidate says something (I'm not sure what but it does say something) about the lack of credible candidates for the office.  Not one of them, after all this time and talk and hoo-hah campaigning has indicated readiness for prime time in the Oval office. .

DOES ANY CURRENT REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT HAVE A CHANCE?

In all my decades of voting for Presidents, I have never seen such an incompetent slate of people.  Not one of them exhibits the insight, creativity, loyalty, dedication to serve their constituents, knowledge as to what is expected in the job, and I could go on and on with their deficiencies.

I do not say this from a partisan bias.  I am truly an Independent voter.I voted for Romney for MA governor, not because I thought he would be a great governor (which I was convinced he would not be) but because a corrupt group of Democrats had too strong a hold in the Capitol.  Romney was able to unseat the Speaker of the State Senate who subsequently faced a judge, as he well deserved.  He went along with an MIT proposal for Health Care and, hopefully, there is some easing to the taxpayers left to pay for all those without insurance who used to show up in emergency rooms.  However, having done that one key job for which others may not value him, I find nothing to recommend the man as a potential President of the United States.

Sadly, I feel that this blog is truly preaching to the choir about so many issues.  Maybe if I leave politics for a few days and concentrate on the myriad of other issues of interest in our lives today it will allow me to see the world as a better place and being alive in it as a good thing again.

REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES FOR PRESIDENT DEBATE ON THE LEVEL OF MIDDLE SCHOOLERS

While the BBC reports fierce clashes in the Republican debate, the only thing which seemed to keep the audience awake was when they cheered at Herman Cain for insisting that he still felt that anyone without a job could have had one.  Additionally, they were clearly Republicans who were oblivious to all issues facing the country and its people and would have voted for a Republican regardless of the most transparent fact that not one of the candidates is ready for prime time.

Some had ideas but they were clearly not thought out as to consequences any more than Bush's war on Iraq was.  Bachmann said she had plans to do everything but stopped before anyone asked if she had a cure for cancer. Despite her stated plan to right the ills of the economy, regulation overload, wars, excessive money given to foreign countries, and some I may have omitted there was no sign as to what those plans are nor any readon given why she has waited so long with so much hardship to so many without sharing these plans with  the rest of the House.

Having watched almost all of it and then listened to pundits repeat their versions of it, I could not believe that none of them came up with any useful plan.  Herman Cain pushed his 9-9-9 plan which was rebutted by others but did not deter him at all, simply insisting that he was speaking of apples and oranges though others made it clear they didn't know which were the apples nor which were the oranges.  In all, the debate was carried out by candidates directed towards a goal which they carried out as a group of mental lightweights as compared to Obama, or in fact, anyone capable of dealing with the state of our country and economy.

None offered a cure; only euthanasia to all Departments of the government, our democracy, and the middle class.  May their Gods help them; they certainly need it.
