BETTER LATE THAN NEVER FOR MIDDLES CLASS; POLITICAL DISASTER FOR BOEHNER

Picture of a one-term Speaker of the House
Boehner finally caved in , saying that they had to do the 'right'  thing for the people.  The Washington Post had an interesting view of the cave-in   Jonathan Capehart wrote::  "Boehner’s colossal cave comes after three days of being pummeled by Senate Republicans, President Obama and the Wall Street Journal editorial page, the latter being the equivalent of the Republican principal’s office."

We can't even blame Grover Norquist for the resistance, since it was resisting a tax cut for which they had previously been in favor, not a tax raise.:  Rachel Maddow described his handling of this crisis as a career killer.  Mitch McConnell, made it clear 30 minutes after Boehner said he would not cave-in, that he was on his own! Maddow made it imminently clear that he just was not good at his job with a lovely comparison to Nancy Pelosi
Capehart went on to say: "The American people are the winners in this latest bit of Washington craziness. But Boehner comes out the biggest loser. The man from Ohio has little to no control over his recalcitrant caucus. The inmates are running the asylum. If we didn’t appreciate it during the debt-ceiling crisis last August we most certainly do now.".

YES, WORDS DO HAVE IMPACT AND INFLUENCE

Listening to legislators on the Right calling Obama a Socialist certainly points to their own ignorance, but it also gets to be believed by many when they hear it over and over again. The worst of them were elected and must be endured until the next election cycle.  Not so with those on media.  They have contracts.  I do not watch Fox News because of the hateful rhetoric and lies.  I looked forward to Keith Olbermann because, while he didn't mince words on his opinion...it was clear when he gave opinions but I was not aware that anyone ever accused him of lying.  If Olbermann was 'freed of his contract' because of his Liberal stance, MSNBC is ignorant of the importance his thinking is to so many of us.  Their popularity will fade as someone as forceful as Coombs will no doubt replace him.

We will be left with Chris Matthews who never lets his interviewees finish a thought as they attempt to answer his questions.  Ed Schultz is good, as is Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O'Donnell. However, it seems the bosses want to have a B-flat media outlet.  It will cater to a B-flat audience.  I can only hope that people out there will have recognized the talent MSNBC had and tossed aside.  It will be like finding a treasure at a yard sale.Shame on MSNBC executives.  They are as knowledgeable about their viewers as Republicans are about the wishes of the 'American people'.

FORMER PRESIDENT CLINTON MAKES A CLEAR MESSAGE ABOUT THE CURRENT THREATS TO PEOPLE DULY ELECTED

Hopefully people will listen and watch to MSNBC as Rachel Maddow presents the Timothy McVeigh tapes made while he was in prison which explain his thinking and rationalization about the bombing of the government building in Oklahoma on April 19th, 15 years ago..  It is not our brightest, though perhaps whitest, fanning the flames of hatred an lack of acceptance of our chosen leaders currently.  While Michele Bachman can talk about the teabaggers as having high IQ's, I wonder where she gets her information since it is unlikely she listens enough to discern the intellectual capacity of others.  I believe in free speech but have little respect for flagrant lack of respect of our President who was elected fairly, indicating that (regardless how those who thought he could perform miracles instantaneously are disappointed and some pollsters manipulating questions which they do not share as part of the information on poll validity) Bachman considers the administration 'gangsters'.
Rather than waste time defending himself to such people of little worth, Obama has defended himself by being a superb President for the people and for keeping his campaign promises which few were conditioned to expect of an elected official since the previous administration seemed to forget theirs, hoping others would do the same.
