HAVE A WONDERFUL 2012

Watching the count down of the ball in Times Square, in  the warmth, safety and peace and quiet of my living room, I thought of so many good things that transpired in 2011.  While some people immediately drop any memories of wrongdoing  in the deceased, I have no such direction.  I am relieved that Osama bin Laden is no longer alive.  While the head of Al Qaeda was made inoperable, neurologically the body continued some thrashing.

The many revelations about the state of our country, its finances, and those who run it and put politics before the welfare of their countrymen remains a shocking truth.  Once again, lies permeate the campaigning, leaving we common folk to wonder how our country was hijacked by those amassing great fortunes at the expense of others.

Elizabeth Warren stated it clearly when she said, speaking to the corporations, how much they owe to all the workers, services and taxpayers who worked to get then there....only she told it in a more passionate and interesting way.  Scroll down to the video.

We can only hope that Occupy Wall Street (our version of the Hobbits) will find the one ring that controls all and throw it back into the molten pool.  It would be nice if all the self-serving politicians could be thrown is, as well, but that is a lot to hope for come November.  Harry Potter did it all using magic but we all know that if we had the use of it today, we wouldn't have gotten into this mess int he first place.  Frodo (Lord of the Rings) did it with some Elfen assistance and lots of dedicated warriors to a certain point.  The last part of the quest to destroy the ring, after many obstacles which mirror pepper spray and police brutality (Saluman troops).

HOW A 'PEACEFUL' PROTEST IS HANDLED IN TODAY'S DYSFUNCTIONAL DEMOCRACY

Do Republicans really think they can stop the protests without listening to the people who are protesting?  One would wonder if politicians and other 'power' figures, even some of the police, think they were anointed rather than appointed or elected.

Today, the protesters have also started protesting the lack of medical services.  A doctor in NY spoke on the street about how sickened he is  to see so many ill people needing medical care for whom it is not available.

We can only hope that the greed has pushed too far.  Now there is more of a cry for single payer medical for all.  This doctor says inequality kills, poverty kills, stagnation kills.  He was Dr. Stephen Auerbach.of Physicians for National Health Program.  To see their proposal, click here.  This is a non-profit group who has been fighting for almost a decade.

As the police continue to abuse the protesters, we see the first serious injury to a helpless unarmed man who served two tours in Iraq.  Coming back to the country he faced death to protect, this country may have killed him.  He is currently in critical condition with a fractured skull.  Lie about who is behind them are being circulated, but why?  The kind of attempts to brainwash which have worked for so long have finally stopped working and those who are threatened seem desperate.  We can only hope they do not push these people who are trying to stay peaceful into a violence

Republican  Representative Peter King, NY

Republican Representative from New York, Peter King says: ‘We can’t allow’ more coverage of Occupy Wall Street. Does Rep King think he was anointed as a censor unto himself.  It is my belief that the media is not controlled by politicians (no snickers allowed here) in our Democracy of the United States.  The most conservative of them all, and the one which is most apt to be slanted or just not truthful, is Fox News (Fair and Unbalanced by their word; Unfair and I
balanced according to many viewers)


“It’s really important for us not to give any legitimacy to these people in the streets,” said King on Laura Ingraham’s radio show Friday evening. “I remember what happened in the 1960s when the left-wing took to the streets and somehow the media glorified them and it ended up shaping policy. We can’t allow that to happen.”

It would be amazing, indeed, if the majority of the public got heard by the mentally deaf representatives it elected to represent them.

Should I believe that Rep King has read the Constitution he swore to uphold?  Should I respect Representative King for his attempt to control those who do not agree with him by  attempting to control the media?  Does anyone other than I believe this man is a megalomaniac, too full of himself to be of any further use to his country and his constituents?

...AND IT IS NONE TOO SOON

The media has not done its homework.  They do not have any idea just who is protesting and why.  Ed Schultz of MSNBC has been doing a pretty good job being in the thick of it, but even he lacks the total oversight which is effecting so many sites.

These protests seem to be coming as a surprise to many.  It is about time that people learn that the Constitution of our land does not make a President able to work miracles when he has a Congress whose sole goal is to make him fail and be a one-term President.  It stand to reason, for anyone who still has some, that people will eventually realize that the country belongs to all of us and we all need to pitch in where it counts and where we might finally be heard rather than being censored by the 'fair and balanced' media outlets.

The slogans of  Occupy Wall Street and Take the Bull by the Horns is beginning to resonate in many sites as the middle class is finally uniting rather than splitting off into political groups, their own depression and feeling suppressed and alone, and the fear that they really have no voice.  But we have learned that there is strength in numbers and that is just what is coming forth...great numbers of people who are tired of the Republican lies and obstructionism and the Democrats not being able to fight them.
