BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR, OR WORSE, CREATE

Karl Rove created Rick Perry, the politician who has moved forward from his creator and like so many, think his ideas are as good as the master.  Perry has strange and controversial opinions on almost everything.  He does not believe in evolution and still clings to the outdated definition that it is still a theory and thus not worth believing.  Last year he was talking reason when he was calling for Texans to consider seceding from the United States.  There is an article in the Washington Post about whether Perry will have a Karl Rove problem.  One might ask whether Perry might also have a Rove problem.

Michele Bachmann believes herself to be in the religious womb and thus that God is backing her.  There are jokes about the subtle ways God goes about helping people...mainly that he might put opportunity in their path but that they must help themselves.  One wonders about some of her vitriolic opinions and biases and just how Christian they really are.

There are other candidates like the governor of Ohio and Indiana who laid some pretty drastic laws and actions down over which they are having second thoughts as people are drowning them with petition signatures  And, As the World Turns, life in America has become an every day soap opera.

CONTRADICTIONS FROM SOME PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES

Texas Governor, Rick Perry

Rick Perry, in a video of his, speaking on MSNBC: "America is not broken, Washington, D.C., is broken,"   Apparently he does not follow with the Constitution as it has set up government.  He has talked of having Texas, where he is governor, secede from the United States.  This does not raise respect for him on my part as having enough brains to run the United States.and do well with foreign relations.  In an article in the L. A. Times, it said:"Of all the early primary states, secular New Hampshire may offer the best test of whether the broader presidential electorate is ready for another socially conservative, Southern governor who has talked openly about his faith and how it has guided his political life".


"With some voters openly suspicious of faith-centered politicians, a number of Republican strategists say Perry's chances in New Hampshire — and nationally, were he to win the nomination — rest on whether he can keep a singular focus on economic issues without making voters leery about the role that religion plays in his thinking."

Michele Bachmann

Bachmann claims she can turn around the economy is just a few months but only said what she would not do.  She has the repeal bill for the 'Obamacare' legislation'.  She will not extend the jobless benefits.

Bachmann prides herself in being the leader in the House who refused to raise the debt ceiling.  Believing herself to know more than all the leading economists because she runs a small business and farm subsidized in essence by the government, she stands alone for the good reason that she cannot find too many others to agree with her ignorant stand.

From an article in the Telegraph of Iowa: "

Both candidates have enjoyed strong support from evangelical Christians and supporters of the small government, low tax tea party movement, and are now making big plays for those two important constituencies in Iowa. They are battling to emerge as the top alternative from the party's most conservative wing to the perceived front-runner, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

"I happen to think the biggest issue facing this country is that we are facing economic turmoil, and if we don't have a president that doesn't get this country working, we're in trouble," Mr Perry told about 300 Republicans in a Waterloo ballrooom. "And I've got a track record."

TEXAS GOVERNOR RICK PERRY; DOES HE THINK THE STATE HAS SECEDED FROM THE OTHER 49?

In my several decades of following American politics and government, I am not able to recall a time when governor's of the state have acted like dictators.  Rick Perry's decision, as governor of Texas,  on 7-7-11, refused to follow American law and signed treaties on an international level, and had an inmate on death row put to death.  He did not allow the man's country to help him as required by treaty or though our laws dictate that it should have happened.  Death cannot be undone which means that the consequences of Perry's decision also cannot be undone.  The cost to our reputation in the world means that now we cannot claim that any American citizen in another country who is accused of a crime, may also have the United States reach out in any consular way.

There has been much discussion as to whether this execution should take place and yet Perry decided to ignore requests for a stay until issues could be ironed out as to foreign ramifications, he refused a stay and the man was executed at 7 PM. An article in The Atlantic writes: " If Governor Perry were president of the United States, responsible for protecting the interests of all Americans when they travel abroad, he would see this issue very differently," said John Bellinger, a lawyer at Arnold & Porter in Washington who served as legal adviser for the State Department in the second term of the Bush administration. Bellinger said the Bush administration took a long and hard look at complying with the international law before finally taking an unpopular position to do so, especially because it involved Mexican nationals convicted of committing heinous crimes."  The article contains extremely interesting views of the entire problem.  Click here.

It seems that ther4e are several Republican Governors today who do not act as though they are part of the country and not an autonomous state.  It is hard to believe that people will vote them into office again,,,,but will they have done enough irreparable damage by then to really have messed us up more for years to come?  What part of United States is he misunderstanding?
